The exhibition “Italian Transavangard” was opened at the Contemporary Art Center. Pictorial works by Sandro Kia, Enzo Cucchi, Nikola de Maria, Francesco Clemente, Mimmo Paladino will be represented here for two months. New history of European art started with works of these painters at the end of the 1970th.
75 works from the collection of the famous Italian Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art are represented at the exhibition.
The young Italian painters, who opened the sensational hall Aperto at the Venetian Biannual Exhibition together with the curator of the current exhibition in Kiev Akile Bonito Oliva in 1980, have become world stars. Their works cost thousand million dollars and are spread over the biggest museums of contemporary art.
The Ministry of Culture of Italy used to buy paintings by the most talented young artists for the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at due time. That` how all artists in Oliva`s charge got into the collection.
Cost of tickets is 20 hryvnas, for students/pupils – 10 hryvnas, for children under seven – free.
