The fun fair “Easter Basket” will be held on the territory of the National Kiev-Pechersk historic-cultural reserve on April 21 – May 2, 2011.
The fair town will be set on Sobornaya Square in front of Uspenskiy Cathedral. In particular, wooden houses, where one will be able to buy Easter goods, will be set there.
Cooking of a huge cake, weighing almost 500 kilos and up to two meters in height will become the main event of the fair. After it is ready, the Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine the Most Blessed Vladimir will personally consecrate it and will treat all guests to it.
The program of the fair also includes conducting master-classes in creating Easter eggs and the Easter tree. Besides, everybody will be able to enjoy the installation of Easter eggs by the painter Oksana Mas.
But, according to organizers, the Fun Fair “Charity Basket” is meant to inform its guests about the meaning of Easter, to carry out enlightening work among both religious people and non-believers. Money-gathering campaign for rescuing children, who need complicated medical operations, will also be held there.
