Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky was one of the three ancient princely capitals of Old Russia. The word "Ukraine” was mentioned there for the first time in history of our country. We will visit Battle for Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky diorama, beekeeping museum, embroidered towels museum and even space exploration museum! Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky is not too far away from Kiev. That’s the distance of only 112 km from Kiev. The area of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky is known as the heart of the princely and the Cossacks’ Ukraine. Sholom Aleichem, G. Skovoroda, holy martyr prince Gleb, T. Shevchenko and almost every Ukrainian Hetmans lived there. This list of names illustrates the significance of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky in Ukrainian culture and history. You can find there no worse museums treasures than in the capital of Ukraine. Visiting Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky you will be amazed with one of the most complete and respectalbe collections of Ukrainian art. There are 11 churches, 16 windmills, a collection of ancient stone sculptures and a collection of copper and bronze era funeral coffins (totally there are 69 of them in the collection) in Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky open air museum. There are artifacts of Trypillya culture settlements and Chernyakhovsk culture settlements, Scythian epoch artifacts, the eighteenth and twentieth centuries icons (totally there are 1400 artifacts in the museum collection), old printed books collection and Cossacks’ period artifacts collection in the museum complex.

You can find old churches, windmills, country style huts with gardens and flower beds in the museum. The true spirit of the Ukrainian countryside has been preserved there.
